Sister Agnes Scholarship Fund:

Sister Agnes Zierkiewicz, SSND, age 95, died December 26, 2008.  Sister, a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame for 70 years, touched the lives of many of our children and was on the staff of St. Alphonsus Liguori School for many years retiring when she was 90.

Following her retirement Sister assisted Deacon Cal Blickle in his work at Nazarethville, a home for retired sisters. She most recently visited St. Al’s during the golf outing/pig roast which raised funds for the school.

To honor her at her retirement a Sister Agnes Scholarship Fund was established in April 2003 to assist school families in need with the cost of providing a Catholic education for their children. Each year, scholarship grants are provided to families who might not otherwise be able to afford a Catholic school. Scholarship grants are for partial tuition assistance with the actual amount determined by need based on financial information provided by the family.  Tax deductible donations honoring Sister can be sent to Principal Peter Tantillo at the school. Checks should be made out to the Sister Agnes Scholarship Fund.
