Wednesday Night Bible Study:
First Corinthians:
The Church and the Christian Community
Have you ever felt daunted by the struggles within the Church, or had your faith shaken by the trials of your local parish community? Then join us for First Corinthians: The Church and the Christian Community, an eleven-part Bible study. We will learn about the early Christians in Corinth and see how their struggles and challenges were not so different from our own (scandals, promiscuity, debates, controversies, and issues related to prosperity vs. poverty). We will see how St. Paul addressed these struggles by introducing the Corinthians to God’s greatest gift: the Eucharist. Paul’s messages to the Corinthians about divisions, immorality, persecution and other trials offer much-needed wisdom for our own times.
We will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation by Dr. Tim Gray, followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. Begins Wednesday, December 4 at 7:00pm in the Saint Alphonsus School Library. The cost for the study guide is $30.00 plus another $5.00 if you want online access. For information or to register, contact Brad Vallem ([email protected] or 847-714-2574), Joe Cotugno ([email protected] or 847-650-4921) or contact the parish office.
We hope you can join us!
