As defined by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

• Being an altar server offers all students more opportunities to grow in maturity, faith and in their love of God through sharing themselves and heir gift. 
• These young women and men give example to all who worship at the parish and school. All servers are scheduled for weekend Masses. Frequency depends on your  availability. A ministry schedule is generated  6 weeks and servers (with their parent's discretion)  have their own onilne profile Saint Alphonsus. Students may also be scheduled for school's Friday Masses.

• Training is provided and a commitment is required from the student and his or her parents.

     "You are volunteering as a server at church.  You light candles, hold the books, handle the vessels, and arrange the cloths.  You help the other ministers focus on their work by simplifying their motions and eliminating distractions. 

You help the entire community celebrate Eucharist by your humble service.

Your actions may seem routine, but everyone depends on you to do them without flash.  When you serve well, no one notices you.  People only notice when things go awry.  The greatest compliment they give you is to ignore that you are there.

         Serving Mass has long been an opportunity for children & FAMILY BONDING.  It teaches them about Mass and involves them right at the altar, the intimacy of the Holy Spirit in your and your family is indescribable and humble.....................

Altar servers (boys and girls) may go unnoticed by many people at Mass, but their role in serving the needs of the celebrant, the congregation &  ministering at the altar is symbolic of the willingness of all parishioners to serve at the table of the Lord.

Students (Boys and girls in 4th - 12th grades) who wish to be part of this liturgical ministry will receive detailed training, so that they can serve their community with reverence, prayerfulness and skill. *
